World Book Day

Happy World Book Day!

We have been celebrating it across this week with a number of activities:
 
- There have been popular competitions in the library at break: students can guess the number of pages in a book; guess where the author is from; complete crosswords and wordsearches; and guess the teachers' favourite books. All entries have been put into a prize draw
- Students have completed a Kahoot quiz in tutor time, with prizes for the tutor group with the best score
- There is an extra focus today with readings and poetry at the beginning of each lesson
- World Book Day book tokens have been distributed and are valid until Sunday 15th March
- There has been a renewed focus on students completing their Book Bingo sheets for this term. These need to be completed by Monday 16th March, and can be handed in either to a student's English teacher or Miss Gaines in the Library

Reading is a vital skill that supports all subjects.
