In-House Work Experience

As part of our commitment to ensuring students have a series of work experience activities across their time in Years 7 to 9, in addition to the long-established week of offsite work experience students enjoy in Year 10, we have developed a programme of in-house work experience.

We aim to provide the broadest possible range of opportunities to learn about careers, based on the students’ interests. Recently, we have been honoured to host the following:

• Hampshire Police
• Frimley NHS Trust
• Farnborough College of Technology (Construction)
• Four Seasons Hotel Group
• Waterford’s Estate Agents
• South East Coast Ambulance Service

Each session includes a presentation on the pros and cons of the job and an outline of a typical day. The presenters then demonstrate a skill – from valuing a typical Fleet property to performing life-saving resuscitation – and then the students get to have a go for themselves. Finally, they reflect on what they have learned and whether it is a career they would consider in future.
