On Tuesday 21st March, we took 67 students to Palmer Park Sports Stadium for the annual Senior District Athletics Championships. On a warm, sunny day, our students were outstanding from start to finish, in terms of their behaviour, their support and their performances. Looking sharp in our new vests (thanks again to the PTA for contributing towards these), the athletes ALL played their part in achieving our best ever team results at this event! U15 Girls finished 6th, U15 Boys finished 2nd, U17 Boys finished 2nd, and our U17 girls were announced as CHAMPIONS! There were 16-18 schools in each category, so a magnificent achievement.

We also had an unprecedented amount of individual awards for excellent performances in their event.

Max Williams picked up the Maskell Trophy for his time of 23.7s in the 200m.

Owen Crabb was awarded the Stiles Trophy for his jump of 1.71m in the High Jump (Ben James, Javelin, and Max Williams, Long Jump, were the runners up of this trophy).

Ella Manning won the Mackey Trophy for her time of 11.7s in the 80m Hurdles (which was also a new Championship Best record).

Ella Manning also picked up the Davies Trophy for her jump of 5.54m in the Long Jump (which was ALSO a new Championship Best record - beating the previous record by 10cm which had stood for 30 years). Jules Heritage, Shot, was the runner up of this award.

All in all a brilliant day for Court Moor School! Well done to all of the students who competed, we are very proud of you!
