Recently the first of our KS3 House Sports competitions of the year took place. The conditions were challenging all week with rain and wind testing all of the students in their chosen sports - but the hard work and house spirit were outstanding throughout! Over 60 teams and 600 students across the three year groups competed.

Year 7 have settled into PE extremely quickly and the standard was excellent with some really close games in the handball, football, netball and hockey. Austen were the overall Year 7 winners for this term! Year 7 will also take part in a bonus Cross Country House Competition next week.

Year 8 were next on the Friday with boys competing in rugby and basketball and girls playing football and netball. Again conditions were testing but all came through superbly. The Year 8 victors overall were Brunel.

Year 9 rounded off the week excellently and again games were competitive and very close. The boys rugby was decided by one try! Netball, hockey and basketball were just as entertaining and a great afternoon was had by all! Year 9 winners were Nightingale!

A big thank you to the PE ambassadors, Max William and our Sport Studies netball umpires who helped run and officiate the tournament so successfully.
