On Monday 21st May, we took 73 athletes to Palmer Park in Reading for the Senior District Championships. The students all performed brilliantly in their individual events and were a credit to the school throughout the whole day with their behaviour and support for each other.

The team results were as follows:

U15 Girls (Year 9) - THIRD in Division 1
U15 Boys (Year 9) - THIRD in Division 1
U17 Girls (Year 10) - JOINT WINNERS of Division 2
U17 Boys (Year 10) - JOINT WINNERS of Division 2

Students scored points for the team if they finished in the top 6 of their event (each event had approximately 20 competitors). There were some outstanding individual achievements throughout the day.

Edson Chillery - THIRD in 400m Hurdles
Sam Swan - THIRD in High Jump
Ben James - THIRD in Javelin
Euan Stewart - THIRD in 1500m
U15 Boys Relay - THIRD

Issy Walton - SECOND in 100m
Nick Cooper - SECOND in Triple Jump
Charli Parsons - SECOND in 1500m
Ella Manning - SECOND in High Jump
U15 Girls Relay - SECOND

Ella Manning - FIRST in 75m Hurdles
Owen Crabb - FIRST in High Jump

Owen Crabb achieved a personal best of 1.66m and came runner up for 'Best Field Performance' for whole day.

Ella Manning achieved a personal best of 11.6s in 75m Hurdles. This was a Championship Best Performance as she beat the record which was set way back in 1989! She has since gone on to better this time (11.46s) and as a result has been invited to National Schools. Well done Ella!

It was a fantastic day all round. Well done to all of the students who represented the school. You did us very proud!
