Art Auction - December 2017
On the evening of 18th December, Court Moor School hosted it’s first ever auction of art work, in conjunction with the Christmas Concert. This fundraising event was the brainchild of Year 9 student, Jasmine King, who did an amazing job in organizing the event, especially considering she had never been involved with anything like it before.
After many really generous donations from parents and others in the local community, our auction had an impressive array of 45 lots, with everything from willow weaves to oil paintings and knitwear on display for our guests to browse.
When all was said and done, 28 lots were sold in the silent auction, with a further three being sold in the auditorium, with Jasmine trying her hand on the shop floor, in the role of live auctioneer! In total the auction raised nearly £500, which Jasmine and her supporters were very pleased with.
We would like to thank Jasmine for all of her hard work and we would also like to say a special ‘thanks’ to all of the wonderfully kind people who either donated pieces to the auction, or gave up their time to help with setting up and serving refreshments.
This was a really big success with a brave new venture!
