Family Cultural Evening
Back
We had our first ever Family Cultural Evening (FACE) last Friday. Parents of Court Moor students, with their children, shared food and items of their cultural heritage with everyone. We all enjoyed delicious food from around the world. We also had a military family who shared their cultural experience of Germany.
The evening's entertainment began with international karaoke. Students selected some popular songs by well known artists, as well as unknown songs in different languages. Notable songs were in Spanish and Hungarian language, and were sung beautifully.
The limbo was a huge hit, as children desperately competed to go the lowest! This was eventually won by one of our student leaders, who wasn't competitive at all!
Finally the pinata saw everyone attack 'Ali the Alpaca' and completely shred it to bits. Then they gathered the spoils of their labour.
The evening was a great success, with the efficient and enthusiastic assistance of the student leaders and allies!
Many thanks to the staff who donated items, their time, provided music or took part as parents to make the evening a very special one. Next year promises to be even better.
