Hampshire Youth Parliament Election
Back
During early December our students voted for a Hampshire Youth Parliament candidate.
Hampshire is split up into 4 geographical areas, North, South, East and West. Each school and college in these areas can vote and elect their Hampshire Youth Parliament Youth Councillor. Students are then elected across the county for a 2-year term of office. Hampshire Youth Parliament’s aim is to represent the voices of young people across Hampshire. Each school and college in the area is allocated a seat on the Youth Council and at Court Moor we undertook a democratic voting process to elect our councillor. Young people elected as Youth Councillors then have the chance to stand to become a Member of UK Youth Parliament (UKYP). Four UKYP representatives will be voted in by the newly elected youth council Members. There will be an internal vote to decide who will be the UKYP representatives for Hampshire.
Well done to year 10 Merryn W who was voted in by the students as our Hampshire Youth Parliament Youth Councillor!
