Teacher Training at Court Moor
Would you like to train as a teacher?
Whether it is a career you have always wanted to pursue, or you have just begun to explore teaching as a possible next step, we would be delighted to hear from you.
Court Moor School is a fantastic place to work and trainees are made to feel very welcome. Existing staff are keen to support and share their experience, as well as to learn from new members of the team.
School-based training gives you hands-on experience alongside academic study, enabling you to develop as a teacher whilst constantly reflecting on the process. We provide an interesting and rigorous programme of study within school, which complements your academic studies at university. You will also be mentored by an experienced member of staff.
We are the lead school in the Court Moor Partnership, a new alliance of local education providers, from primary level through to post-16 education, established in order to develop outstanding levels of teacher recruitment in Fleet and the local areas. Our primary partners include Heatherside (Junior School and Infant School), Church Crookham Junior School and Tweseldown Infant School; at secondary level, we work with Fernhill School, Wavell School. Tomlinscote School, Rodborough and Rowhill School. In addition, we work with The Sixth Form College in Farnborough, which can host trainees who are particularly keen to teach A-level subjects. As a partnership, we endeavour to attract large volumes of applicants, and provide high-quality training provision to those who train at any of the schools within our partnership. We offer both PGCE and QTS-only routes, via the University of Reading, which has an exceptional track record in teacher training. We have 15 trainees across the partnership for 2019-20, and are keen to recruit more for 2020-21.
In the autumn term, we will hold a number of information events, which are open to anyone who is interested in finding out more about teaching, and which will include advice on bursaries and application criteria. The events will take place on the following dates:
- Monday 13th January, 3pm
- Monday 3rd February, 9am
- Thursday 5th March, 2pm
- Wednesday 25th March, 9am
You are very welcome to attend one of our information events and to visit the school. To reserve a place, or for any further information, please contact our ITT Administrator, Arvinder Mankoo, by email (firstname.lastname@example.org) or telephone via reception on 01252 615065.
The Court Moor Partnership is also staging several School Experience Programme (SEP) open days in 2019-20. These are opportunities for potential trainees to spend time in schools observing lessons and speaking to teachers about routes into teaching, getting advice from those in the know. The school is open to visitors from Tuesday 7th January to Wednesday 1st April, with the exception of the Spring half-term break (Monday 17th February to Friday 21st February). To register, please go to https://schoolexperience.education.gov.uk/.
To find out about SEP dates at our partner schools, please refer to their websites.
