Year 8 Author Visit

Today Year 8 had the wonderful opportunity to hear from the author of a book they have been studying in English: Boy 87. 

Author, Ele Fountain, shared her experiences as a publisher, writer, and award-winning author, as well as delving into her family life travelling and living overseas.  Ele discussed the aspects of life over seas that influenced her novel and challenged students to consider what it would be like for them to experience uprooting their lives because of war. 

Year 8 were an exceptional audience and asked a range of insightful and thought-provoking questions – receiving high praise form Ele herself! 

We look forward to finishing our studies of Boy 87 and hope that the students consider reading more of her collection (there are some contenders to check off some Book Bingo squares!).
