The Big Read

Year 7 will be taking part in The Big Read, a unique opportunity to read a book together as a year group.

Each year 7 student will get a copy of Hunt for the Golden Scarab by M. G. Leonard. The book has themes of ancient egypt, history, intrigue, resourcefulness, family, courage, and friendship. The aim is to promote whole year group enjoyment of reading that will generate interaction and thoughtful discussion. The book can of course be taken home and shared with family. We ask that students take care of their book, and they can either keep it or return at the end of the year to the library for future students to enjoy.

Reading is such a vital skill in support of all subjects, to both improve ability and expand vocabulary.
