Class of 1975!

Today we were thrilled to welcome John Welch, a former Court Moor student who graduated from the school an astounding 50 years ago! John and others from the class of 1975 will be having a reunion at the Fox & Hounds pub in the next few days. This is one of several reunions that the class of 1975 have held, including a second reunion in 2015, and most recently in 2019.

John brought some of his school books with the Court Moor logo (pictured), and has regaled us with stories from that time. He told us how much his year 9 form tutor, Mrs Preece, helped make a big difference to his attitude. That year he was sufficiently successful to win the form prize, a 70p book token (worth around £5 now) which was presented in the hall. John also spoke fondly of Mr Garside, his chemistry teacher, that was a favourite with all the students, and had been previously been in an RAF crew during World War 2. 

We wish John and the rest of the class of 1975 a fantastic reunion!
