On Wednesday, twelve year 10 students attended a BAE engineering competition at the Farnborough International Exhibition & Conference Centre. The aim of the day was to engage the students in a project that might encourage them to pursue a career in STEM subjects.

The project brief was to build a vehicle capable of traversing difficult terrain to rescue fire fighters that had been cut off by wildfires. Our students were split into two teams and they tackled the task with gusto. Both were successful in building a vehicle that fulfilled the brief. Combining their scores over the day, they emerged as the winners of the prize for the best overall school!

The enthusiasm and impeccable behaviour of our students cannot be understated, and the accompanying staff, Mr Cumner and Mr Lee, were extremely proud of their achievements.
