Two Court Moor School students, Ebby and Keira, have been selected to represent England at this year’s 2024 Dance World Cup in Prague, Czech Republic.
The two dancers auditioned against hundreds of other hopefuls to successfully secure their place on Team England.
Ebby, in Year 11, and Keira, in Year 10, will travel to Prague in June with their dance school the Kahli Lewis Dance Company to represent Court Moor School as part of Team England and showcase their talents at the 2024 Dance World Cup. The Kahli Lewis World Cup team is made up of 44 dancers which also includes three ex Court Moor students, Tilly, Tiana and Niamh.
Kahli Lewis said: “I am so proud of Ebby and Keira and all they have achieved. The school and students should be very proud of their achievement and the achievement of their ex-pupils, Tilly, Tiana and Niamh. I am delighted that we will be waving the flag for Court Moor School on the world stage.”
Ebby has qualified to dance a tap duet and folklore quartet and along with Keira and the ex-Court Moor pupils, they will perform in numerous group dances choreographed by Kahli Lewis including ballet, commercial, tap, contemporary, folklore and lyrical.
As a non-funded event, the students are reaching out to the School community to help them achieve their dream of dancing for their country by providing much-needed funding for their kit and essential training. The Dance World Cup 2024 takes place in Prague, from 27th June to 6th July, in which over 6,000 dancers will represent their countries to compete in the greatest all-genre dance competition in the world.
The event is streamed live so you can watch and support the students and Team England every dance step of the way.
