This term's selection includes some that may well prove to be old favourites for some parents. We look forward to many of you joining us in reading these.

For Year 7 we have the 'Flour Babies'. When the annual school science fair comes round, Mr Cartwright's class don't get to work on the Soap Factory, the Maggot Farm or the Exploding Custard Tins. To their intense disgust they get the Flour Babies - sweet little six-pound bags of flour that must be cared for at all times.

For Year 8 we have 'Tall Story'. Be careful what you wish for... Andi is short and she has lots of wishes. She wishes she could play on the school basketball team. She wishes for her own bedroom. Most of all, she wishes that her long lost half-brother, Bernardo, could come and live in London, where he belongs. All of a sudden Andi's biggest wish comes true and she's minutes away from becoming someone's little sister. As she waits anxiously for Bernardo to arrive from the Philippines, she hopes he'll turn out to be tall and just as mad as she is about basketball. When he finally arrives, he's tall all right. But he's not just tall... he's a GIANT!

Year 9 get to enjoy 'Northern Lights', which has been recently televised. When Lyra’s friend Roger disappears, she and her daemon, Pantalaimon, determine to find him. The ensuing quest leads then to the bleak splendour of the North, where armoured bears rules the ice, and witch-queens fly through the frozen skies – and where a team of scientists is conducting experiments too horrible to be spoken about.

Year 10 and 11 will need to download the Epic app and then they can enjoy 'Finding Mighty'. Along the train lines north of New York City, twelve-year-old neighbours Myla and Peter search for the link between Myla's necklace and the disappearance of Peter's brother, Randall. Thrown into a world of parkour, graffiti, and diamond-smuggling, Myla and Peter encounter a band of thugs who are after the same thing as Randall. Can Myla and Peter find Randall before it's too late, and their shared family secrets threaten to destroy them all? Drawing on urban art forms and local history, Finding Mighty is a mystery that explores the nature of art and the unbreakable bonds of family.
