Thursday (19th May) saw another successful Career Café talk. Over 40 students from years 7 to 11 came to listen to an ex-pupil talk about Journalism and TV Production.

Amy Blumson is a freelance documentary producer, currently making a BBC history series about the psychology of Hitler and his inner circle. Aside from history documentaries, other programmes she worked on over the years have included Iceland with Alexander Armstrong, Great Australian Railway Journeys and Inside the Factory.

She spoke about her route into TV from the Daily Telegraph and offered a great insight into a TV producers role. She explained that it is a brilliant industry where no day is the same, but quite tough to break into if you don't know where to start and she said “I wish I'd had someone tell me jobs like mine existed when I was at school! These Career talks are really important.”
